Annie Lennox
Annie Lennox, born 25th December 1954, in Aberdeen Scotland. Dorothy Farquharson & Thomas Allison Lennox is the name used by her parents. Lennox went to her studies at the Royal Academy of Music, London during the 1970s. She took a course in harpsichord and flautist piano over three years. Lennox's budget was increased with a student stipend and part-time jobs. Lennox was not satisfied with the level of her performance compared with other students at Royal Academy and began looking at other options. Lennox began her career as a flute-player with the group Dragons Playground. But she quit prior to her group being invited to compete on I.T.V.'s talent contest New Faces. Between 1977 and the year 1980 she sang in The Tourists. A British pop band from the UK. As part of this group, she was first introduced to Dave Stewart. Together they would form their own group, the Eurythmics the pop group. Lennox worked on her solo debut album Diva. It came out in 1993. It became a huge critical and commercial success. Nostalgia Lennox's sixth solo album was released in the month of November. The C.D. The C.D. is comprised of Lennox's favorite soul, jazz and blues songs of her youth. Lepidoptera features four keyboard tracks. The E.P. The E.P. is her first solo album, and is a sequel to the art installation she designed at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art named Now I Let You go... Annie Lennox born December 25 1954 is an Scottish philanthropist political activist and musician and singer. The Tourists were a new-wave group that had some success in the late 1970s. In the following years, Lennox joined her fellow musician Dave Stewart to form the pop duo Eurythmics. Lennox's debut album in 1992 Diva featured a number of hit tracks, such as Why as well as Walking on Broken Glass. Medusa the 1995 studio album features cover versions of popular songs such as No More I Love Yous andA Whiter Shade of Pale. The singer has released six solo album compilations and studio albums. |
